Date/Dream Car

Natelin's post go me thinking...about cars. I love fast cars. Nic and I have been flirting with the idea of getting a date car that would fit only us and we'd use to go on dates. But since we don't have the money, or go on dates, I'll just keep dreaming. Here's my top five:

Dance, Dance, Dance

CC, Ava, and Bree had dance class today, and I was lucky to sneak in some shots of them through the window.  I say "lucky" because if the twins see me, they pitch a fit and want to leave the dance room.  I have to walk them in, holding their hands, and then run out and shut the door.  They cry and stand by the door for the first few minutes of class, and then get so entertained and entranced by their teacher, Miss Leann, that they join the class. But if they see me, it's all over.
CC on the other hand, is an animal. The kids got moves Latin Americans are envious of.  She loves to shake what her momma gave her.  Her class is Hip Hop, and they just learned a few break dancing moves. I can't wait for the recital in June.

Portland To Coast Relay

I have found an awesome race to work towards, the Portland To Coast Relay.  A team of 12 walk from Portland to Seaside, 127 miles on August 22, 2008!
I am going to start a team, so if you are in the area, and would love to be a part of this, let me know!

SPONGESOPHIE SOGGYPANTS

If Mormons could have Goddaughters, Sophie would be mine. Here's mine tribute to the cutest little blue-eyed baby in the west!

I Cheated

I cheated on the book tag below. I chose the best of three options. I wanted to share the other two books just to be fair.

The first is "Well-Behaved Women Seldom Make History" by Laurel Thatcher Ulrich. It's a tough read, for me. I'm reading bits and pieces here and there, until the library check out runs out. I think Chelle met the author once.

The second book is "The Daring Book For Girls," by Miriam Peskowitz.  I also have "The Dangerous Book for Boys," which Nic loves. These books are like old encyclopedias of everything fascinating to young kids. The 123 page in this book was about female explorers, in particular, Amelia Earhart. It covers everything from knot tying and campfire songs, to brief histories on women and how to play games. The cover alone caught my attention, I'm a sucker for pleasing packaging and the cover is fantastically enticing, and is sparkly! Nic spent hours one night reading the boys book. It's like reliving everything cool about boys camp or summers at Grandpas.
I'm going to sound like the guy from Reading Rainbow, but check it out anyway.
(On a side note - I secretly wanted to give a book report on reading rainbow. I would pretend in front of my mirror, but I could never get up the courage to give one in school.)

Book Tag

While my family are watching "Water Horse" I'm got two hours to spare, so I am going to take up Chelle's tag challenge about a book nearby.

Here's the tag:
1. Pick up the nearest book
2. Open to page 123
3. Find the 5th sentence
4. Post the next 3 sentences
5. Tag five people

Here's my response:

"The Big Book Of How To Say It Best" By Jack Griffin and Robbie Miller Kaplan

The poet e.e. cummings wrote a delightful line that seems to me wonderfully appropriate for tonights gathering: "We thank you, God, for most this amazing day."  As we settle down to the business of this evening, let us ask the Lord never to allow us to forget that each of the days granted us is, indeed, amazing-filled with wonder and the wonder of opportunity.  Let us approach our work tonight in the freshness of that spirit."

Here's who I tag: Tonya Gold, Jill Pierce, Jenny Thomas, Natelyn, and Carrie Carson

Kisses

CC plays with bubbles, Ava gets an owie, and Bree gives kisses.  It's a good day.

Kennedy

Kennedy and I took these of her new missing tooth.  Today she actually pulled the sucker out herself.  She is seven now, and has very long pretty hair.  She loves dance and is playing "Clara" in her ballet class's recital.

I like these black and whites, except you can't see her insanely beautiful blue eyes.

This Week In Photos

For FHE we played playdoh.  Here's Kennedy's self portrait.

Ava liked the pose K did, so she tried it out.

I got CC a jumbo bubble stick.  She spent hours outside making massive bubbles.

CC took this photo of Kennedy and her food coloring lips.  She loves to explore in the kitchen...unfortunately. I am still finding drops of green on the counter.

Chuck E Cheese Please!

Last Friday CC said she wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese's with the whole family, so we did.  We actually had a great time, thanks to some grown up kids helping us, kudos to Natelin and Colby!  I know it was tough to have to spend your Friday night with the nieces and a large mouse, but you held up well!
Again, there are no pictures of Kennedy, poor kid, she was having too much fun to hang out with her mom.

Bree loved the milk truck ride, but we couldn't pry Ava out of our arms to even sit in it.

Bree in her ride, taking CC on her deliveries.

Ava and Caitlin, with a shrunken head.

Yeah! Ava found a ride she likes!

The twinkies playing the stomp the spider game.  It was so hysterical!

AMERICA'S NEXT TOP PHOTOGRAPHER - CC

CC has mad photography skills.  She is insanely technically savvy too.  If she gets a hold (I should say "WHEN she gets a hold") of a camera, phone or computer, she can change the background photo, all your settings, and even email people.  It's a little scary, because she's 3.  My mother in law, Nic, and I are her prime targets.  Nic just had to spend an hour with technical support to get his blackberry ringer to turn off and on when he wants to.  Movies and church have been embarrassing when his phone goes off.  Paula (her grandma) had an email sent out to people from her that CC had sent.  People thought Paula was sending some kind of secret message.  My camera and iphone is packed full of CC's photo shoots. So, I'll share some of my favorites.  She's had a booger problem for a few weeks, so if you are a little scweemish, look away.

Easter Egg Hunt on the Farm

The Annual Egg Hunt at my in law's was a smash this year with good weather and a great turn out. Here's some fun pictures.  Kennedy was there, but not in pictures, she was off with a friend having a blast.
(on a side note: I can't figure out how people put pictures in the middle of text. If any of you know, will you clue me in. I have a mac, if that matters)

Weight Ticker

I added a weight ticker at the bottom of this blog. It's for me, I'm needing motivation. Nic and I have been going to the gym regularily, and I'm eating healthy, so I need to visually see my hard work payoff. I love that you can't see the actual weight, rather the amount lost. I'm on my way!
