Kodachrome

When I think back on all the crap I've learned in high school
It's a wonder I can think at all
Though my lack of education hasn't hurt me much
I can read the writings on the walls

Kodachrome, they give us those nice bright colours
They give us the greens of summers
Makes you think all the world's a sunny day, oh yeah
I got a Nikon camera, I love to take a photograph
So mama don't take my Kodachrome away

I'm sooooo excited to try out my new camera. I gotta get a bag and a battery charger, and I have "Nikon D40 for Dummies" on reserve at the library. It's light and has a million gadgety settings that I need to figure out how to use. Did I say I was excited? My goal is simply to take better shots of people. I love close ups and expressions, and have ample models living with me, so I'm excited to put this bad boy into practice.

On another note: That part of "Christmas Story" where the mom asked the kid to show her how a piggy eats and he finally eats his food. Yeah, I've tried it with my twins and it works great. So I couldn't use the camera to shot them being "piggies", so here's where you can close your eyes and imagine the shot I would have put here. Disgustingly cute!

Bree-utiful

My sassy little 3 year old needed a trim, so I gave a haircut to suit her attitude.
It turned out alright, factoring in how hard it was to get her to hold still. So, one movie, 3 fruit roll ups, and a lot of pleading later and we have a sassy little hairdo.

Kevin and Sven

We are so happy to have Nic's brother Kevin home from his mission. He went to exotic Ogden, Utah, and we are just loving having another fun uncle around to play with and babysit( Thanks Kev!).
So, you'd think I would have taken a fun picture of us hugging him, but we were too busy hugging him and playing rockband to take one, but here's one of us at his homecoming talk.

One another note, I have been laughing my tush off about this commercial. Hope you do too!

Annual Egg Hunt on the farm

I'm pretty sure I posted about the egg hunt last year, so here's to tradition.
The weather was perfect, everyone had a great time. Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Vial for hosting. I was there too, just behind the camera.

Nic told his Mom a story....

... so funny it hurt her tummy.

My Girls

I'm supposed to be taking a shower, at 3:30 in the afternoon, let's just say it's been one of those days. I have had my head in a book for a few days now and am just "surfacing" and realized that I've left my hygiene, as well as my children, unchecked for too long. The book I was engrossed in, The Historian, by Elizabeth Kostova, is fantastic and I am sad and glad to be finished with it, although it's still in my brain. I won't get too much into the book, but if you have read it or would like to read it, I'll talk further with you. It had me thinking a lot about mothers and daughters.

My girls are so fun. I have been loving their unique personalities and recognizing their individual styles. CC may look alot like Nic and his sister Alicia, and she has a spunk that is all her own. Kennedy is beautiful and sensitive and talented and I have been getting snatches of the young women she is becoming. She's growing up too quickly for me.
Bree and Ava had their birthday appointments with their pediatrician, and he asked me to describe them. I think that and all the photos of Nic and his family have me preoccupied with their and their sisters personalities. Bree is very advanced in her conversation skills and often wants to do everything I do, the dishes, the cleaning, putting on makeup, DRIVING THE CAR! She is 16 already in a 3 year olds body. Ava is a sweet, loveable three year old going on six month old. She loves to be babied and given lots of love and attention, well, they all do.
I think I was blessed with the happiest, smiliest, silliest, craziest girls that ever graced the name Cazier or Vial, but then, their grandparents might think otherwise.
So here's a photo tribute to by angels. Whom I hope one day to call my best friends as well as my daughters. You are all beautiful and you bring immense joy and love to your Dad and me.
