Happy Birthday Ava & Bree

My little babies are two tomorrow. Two years ago today I was in the hospital on bedrest for a month because Ava'a water broke. It was a long and boring, like prison with room service. My girls with with My mom in Utah for two weeks, then Nic's mom here in Oregon for two weeks. It was rough on us all. Nic sleep everynight of those 30 nights on an air mattress on the floor of my room. He's the best.
Ava came first at 5:30 and Bree five minutes later. They were taken directly to the NICU and stayed there for 30 days.
It seems like so long ago, but here's the proof that times flies while your busy with babies.

How Low Can You Go?

My longing for a son just got worse, how cute is he? I'll take two!

Guilty Pleasure

Darn you Stephanie Myers. Not only did she make three scarily addicting novels, but there's more coming this year. Breaking Dawn, the fourth in her Twilight series(and final let's hope, for my husbands sanity) is coming out in August. She's got a new novel, The Host, coming out in May. And to top off the Stephanie Myers addiction, her movie is set to be in theaters in December. It's not my fault, I had Harry Potter done and over with. But then comes this literary drug, and I'm hooked. I'm going to place the blame elsewhere. To Cara my sister in law, curse you for introducing me (I'll call you when I'm done with The Host and we'll chat;)). To Jen and Tiff, who are my enablers and the other two members of our bookclub "Hoochie Mamas." And most importantly, TO Stephanie Myers herself, who knew that a stay-at-home-mormon-mama had that much passion and intensity lurking in her dreams. So, if you're an addict, like myself, with an amazing husband that lets you go MIA until you've resurfaced from reading, give her books a try. Hopefully, you will be better able to space out your reading/mothering better than I.

Chasing Fireflies

My bro in law is getting married next saturday. We like to dress in the same color for weddings, it looks good in pictures, and is kind of cool to look out into the crowd and see who's family. So, the bride (The beautiful Kenne) has picked dark brown and green for her colors. With Easter coming soon, it's a little tricky finding straight brown dresses. I had some luck at Burlington Coat Factory finding four matching dresses that will work for the wedding dinner the night before, but I wanted something fancier for the wedding and reception. So, I'm at the girls dance classes yesterday and there was this insanely adorable catalog for little kids clothes. Way too expensive, but precious nonetheless. Check is out www.chasing-fireflies.com

Here's some of my faves from their website.

My favorite songs...this week

So, I like music. I may not play or sing so well, but I can listen and groove. Here are my favorites this week, in no particular order.
FEIST
She is the voice I like to hear in the morning when I'm getting Kennedy off to school. Nic took me to her concert for my birthday. Best concert I have ever seen. She's insanely addicting and lively. My fave songs, 1234, My Man My Moon(every airport walkway is my catwalk now) and SO Sorry.

Ingrid Michaelson
My "I Love My Husband" anthem.

SARA BAREILLES
Who doesn't love Love Song?

ONCE

Nic and I saw this last night, amazing show. The music is haunting me even now. The two singing, wrote the music/lyrics too, and won an Oscar tonight for best song. Just the idea that "the girl" and "the guy" were in each others lives for only a week, but were the motivation each other needed to move forward, was simple and beautiful. I give it two thumbs up, but if you are offended by the "F" word, skip this.

SNL Birth Control Sketch

I was tearing up last night from laughing so hard. SNL had a best fake commercial on last night. Nic thought it was funny, but once he saw how bad I was cry/laughing, it got him rolling too.

House Pix

Here's the kitchen and front rooms semi finished.

Kennedy's Basketball

Kennedy started basketball this year. She is in a co-ed league for 1st graders, and is an excellent center. She guards her man, even on offense. It is fun to show her my basketball pictures from way back when. And the last picture is from when Dad and Linda and Kirby came to visit. Too awesome.

Kennedy's 7th Birthday

I still can't believe that I have a seven year old. She is such a fantastic kid. She's got great style, lots of sass, and is very unique. For her birthday party she wanted a Tea Party, but not just any tea party. She had a Japanese Themed Tea Party. Everyone dressed up, all the decorations were asian themed, they made origami, and my Mom came in town for her birthday and made these amazing candy sushis.

Newport Beach cont.

Newport Beach

My Dad and Stepmom, Linda, and little Brother Kirby came to visit this last weekend, and we went to Newport Beach with them. It was beautiful weather, and the sunset that night was amazing. Newport has my favorite fresh seafood place that sells the BEST Cioppino in the world. Good Times.

Sunny Days Sweeping the Clouds Away

The sun came out today, and other than snotty noses, no one was ill.
We explored our forest back yard, and until the fence is installed, we learned about "neighborland" vs. "CC's land". Very imformative. I love this backyard. It even came we a friendly Hawaiian neighbor and her adorable baby. I love nice neighbors. This is a great house.

DA MOVE (Pronounce that like SNL's "DA BULLS")

It happened.

That's about all you're going to squeeze out of me. I'm exhausted. I'll give a brief play by play.

Friday morning drop the girls off with grandma. Pack some stuff. Move some stuff.
Friday night, pick up Ava and take her to ER for RSV.
Saturday morning (around 4am) return home and sleep.
Saturday morning hold AVA and move.
Sunday, stay home from church and hold a crying Ava.
Monday.....tuesday... wednesday.....fast forward to today... feeling human.
Here's some pics.
We are in the business of concrete, can you see the truck? Vial & Pham is nic's business. So, we fixed a sinking garage and repoured it and the drive way. The guys had some fun with the ginormous chunk of concrete in the middle.
blah.

A shout out to Carrie Roylance

To Carrie Roylance

'You rock. I'm excited to blog stalk you (thanks for the phrase, I just kept calling it voyerism, but I like this better) and get to know you again. You have a beautiful family and I'm excited for your family to grow with another baby!

Peace out!
Hailey Cazier

Craislist, I love you!

So, we are moving on Saturday to a house twice the size of the one we are in now, and we need some furniture bad. Not just for the empty rooms, but to replace the hand me downs we've accumulated over the years. So, we've been trying Craigslist to find some couches, desks and shelves, and we found some awesome pieces. I was looking around my house and I've purchased dozens of items successfully from craigslist. Also, my father in law just furnished an entire home in Vermont from Craigslist. So here's my salute to you craigslist community! Keep it up!

Lost Wages

Nic and I attended the World of Concrete Convention in Las Vegas. It was lots of store bought fun, and hours of being mezmerized by the Bellagio fountains, while our buns froze. It was cold, but that just gave us an excuse to eat more buffett and watch a Cirque de Soliel show called "O". It stands for ""O"h my gosh, that is the most "O"mazing thing I have ever seen in my life."
We went with Nic's business partner and twin brother, Hoa and his wife Thuy, and his concrete guy, Alex and his wife Tiffany. They were awesome company. Nic and Hoa even treated us ladies to a gondola ride in the Ventetian. Very romantic, well except for the jaded half-Italian, half-LA gondola driver who had an incredible singing voice, sandwiched between cynical banter. I wanted to push him in the river. All in all a nice weekend away from the kiddos, complements of my momma! Thanks MOM!

Miss Maddie and her West Coast Cousins

"Miss Maddie and her West Coast Cousins".... or "One Of These Things Is Not Like The Other." I thought that would be a cute title of a childrens book.

This was a fun night at our friends James and Jen Harris'. The binkies in this picture are the best. Maddie we miss you!

Another new start...

This is for Chelle, I hope it doesn't become a habit.

Here are some pix of our Lady Marion house. Also, the fun things I am finding to fill it.

Chelle, you are going to love these stools I got on overstock.com. They are super handy, and by purchasing three, so Sisi and the twins will not fight (hopefully).

I think I'll figure this out soon. See you in March!
